We areretires TV and motion picture writing ream – long-time current members of the Writers Guild of America, west

One of us-Mort – until 2002 – chaired, among many other committees, the WFAw Task Force on Disability, as well as the WGAw Human Resources Coordination Committee. Dealing with issues of entertainment industry including those concerning writers with disabilities

Ed has been disabled for thirteen years – house bound for over a year. Mort due to a fall eleven months ago, is also now disabled. Obviously, we know something about disability and the attitudes of some others toward it.

GAMBURD, Inc has been particularly helpful to us – dispensing medical equipment with professionalism, with admirable patience (explaining in detail how to make the best use of the equipment) and with that all – important senesce of caring that distinguishes it in an age of indifference exhibited by many businesses.

Israel Gamburd, moreover, has not only checked with us on the continuing efficiency of the equipment – but has repeatedly indicated personal concern for out welfare – calling to see how else he might be of help – even offering to do grocery shopping for us, if needed.
This is taking the proverbial extra step – not generally a practice of business not of most people in our hectic society.

We were directed to GAMBURD, Inc. by a visiting Home Health Service nurse. Until that time, we weren’t aware of the establishment. We mention this to have it understood our nomination doesn’t emanate from a personal friendship. Our relationship with GAMBURD, Inc. remains on a business level.

We believe however, that good deeds should always be acknowledged.
